My cats love this cat food
I can only assume my cats love this cat food. They have never eaten any cat food this quickly. When I ordered this I didn’t notice it was only 3 oz cans. Way out of my price range. If it was a 5.5 oz I would only order once in a while.

Excruciatingly particular about caring for my animals. All of the labels are read and food is observed going into bowls. My cat loves this so much that she’s ready and calling to remind me of dinnertime EVERY NIGHT!

Picky, picky, picky
I love the portion size of the food and it definitely has little chunks in there with a gravy which I had hoped my 3 babies would love as I’m looking for a healthier moist food option. 2 cats have been eating one brand and my other cat eats only Sheba. Sadly, all 3 steered clear of this food no matter how hard I tried. Luckily we have a few strays at my workplace I can give the case to so it’s not at all a waste.

Tasty treat for my cats.
I mix this with hard cat food, the cats like the enhancement and usually eat both. Cats like variety just like most critters. Bit expensive for the can size, but the size it’s a handy to prevent spoiling (fish spoils fast in warm weather). Once I put the food out it gets eaten right away most of the time (unless a cat just caught some fresh game). I keep outdoor cats to control the rats, squirrels and mice from taking over my garden, to prevent damage to fruit and veggies. With the cats around, the pests usually stay away so my cats go hungry a lot unless I feed them regularly.

Did you change the recipe for this food?
This used to be my elderly cat’s favorite food, the only one I could count on her to eat. Now she sniffs at it and walks away. It even smells different to me too. I had to throw out 24 cans that cost me $30.I am a very unhappy customer, Purina.

Cat would not eat this stuff
I don`t blame my cat for turning her nose up and walking away. This stuff looked awful. It also had no aroma. You would think salmon &trout would smell like fish. I`m giving the rest of it to a neighbor. His cats will eat anything. I guess I spoiled my cat by giving her real tuna once in a while. She knows what`s edible and what`s worthless.

The cat will not eat, product changed? Updated my review.
January 8, 2019 – I been buying the chicken flavor locally for years then decided to come buy it on Amazon but something changed, not just the logo but the product. She will just sniff it and walk away, I never had this problem with the old product. My cat is a very picky eater when it comes to wet food, it’s not easy to get her to eat other canned food and I have tried several from cheap to expensive with no success. Now I will have to begin the process of searching all over again.April 21, 2020 – I recently decided to try this product out again a couple of months ago and I am please to say my cat now eats the food, only the chicken and tuna flavor. I don’t know if the product changed again for the better or the cat decision changed but right now I am happy I can get her off the dry food. Came back to update my review to be fair to the company.

Cats Loved BUT Created Bigger Problem
I can honestly say my two kittens absolutely loved the taste of this food. They loved lapping up the gravy and did not mind that it was pieces. I couldn’t even tell you there favorite flavor. We slowly switched the two of them from a more expensive, less gravy kitten pate’. Once they were completely off the original food and eating the Purina One, our real troubles began. I would love to say this ended with happily healthy, nourished kittens. Well, they may have loved the taste, but their stomach and bowels had a full on war with it. Both kittens could not eat this food without having any loose or runny bowel movements. It was like they’d lost control of their bowels because there were times when they just couldn’t make it to the litter box. Without being too graphic, the two kittens made parts of my home look like a Jackson Pollock painting. I have to leave a glowing review for Resolve Spot Cleaner now. (Thank you resolve) Once we narrowed this down to the food, which really didn’t take long, we weaned them back to their old brand. Needless to say, our missing-the-litter-box-in-time problem went away. We haven’t had a loose still since. The kittens may not appreciate the change in food, but it is for the best. The one we’ve switched back to is also grain free and healthy for kittens…. it’s just that they don’t care for the flavor as much. When they get hungry, they eat it, but I do agree that the more expensive kitten food could make more diverse flavors for them. Maybe your kittens/cats may not have the same reaction as mine. You won’t unless you try it. Be prepared with rubber gloves, disinfectant, Resolve, paper towels….. and remember they’re kitties, and can’t control this situation like we can. Poor dears. Fingers crossed you have better luck than my two kitties.

Yes for my cats
I canceled his stuff! Whenever I go to the store sometimes they have it and sometimes they don’t. If they do have it, they don’t always have mini cans. If I order it from Amazon, I get 24 so that makes it far more convenient for me. If you know the brand and flavor you’re canceling ordering through Amazon is way easier. Play Yes, for convenience and yes, if your cats like tuna.

Excellent cat food for some picky cats.
This food has worked out very well. Three out of four of the cats really like the food. All four cats are quite picky eaters, so getting even 3 of them to like a food is great. The meat is shredded nice and small. I find some shredded foods need to be broken up further to make it easy for the cat to eat but this one is good straight from the can. One of the cats that likes the food has digestive issues and he seems to really like this food a lot. It is easy on the stomach for him. These cans are around 2.5 inches in diameter and around 1.5 inches tall and hold 3oz of food. You get 24 cans of food.Pros:*Shredded small, no need to break it down further when serving it*Cost-effective*Cats like it*Lots of gravy, good for mixing things inCons:*NoneAdditional Considerations:These are the small cans. If you need bigger cans look for a 5oz or higher version.Overall: 5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 starsIf you have any further questions regarding the product in my review please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

My cats all like it, including the finicky one that generally hates canned food. The size is perfect for single portion feeding (portion size was too small in my previous brand), and I alway prefer recyclable cans to plastic containers.

I have ordered this product a number of times and had no problem – this time they sent it in a plastic envelope and that caused damage to the product – and one was so damaged it had to be thrown out. I do hope shipments will be better thought on its safety!!

I wish my cat wasn’t so picky!
My cat absolutely loves Purina One Instinct! She gets it as her morning yum yums once a day (dry cat food available the rest of the day). No sleeping in for me!This is the only type of wet catfood she likes, which is a bummer when Walmart runs out of it and never bothers to restock. Having to order it online now. BEWARE! DO NOT BUY HERE!! I’m so angry and sad I can’t even describe it!
I’m so angry not only to this people, but also at myself because I suspected something was wrong, but decided to follow the expiration date on this package. So I bought this a little while back because the ones I bought at PetSmart were running out, and I thought it would be more convenient to buy it and get it delivered, than having to drive to the store to get it.When the package arrived, I left it sealed up but put it in the same place I’ve always kept my Cat’s food, in the pantry, and kept giving my baby the other food until it ran out, which it only had two more cans left. So, I started giving my Cat this one I bought in amazon. When I opened the first can I notice that it looked very differently than the one I bought in PetSmart, even though it was the exact same product. I bought it the same because this is the one my baby likes. So I looked at the content of the can, and it was very watered, like it look like it had more water than food, and it had this weird little cream/white-ish granules in it. I thought, Oh my god it looks expired, and grabbed the box and checked the expiration date. The expiration date says it expires on 2024, it’s just beginning of 2023 and I thought, “it still has almost an entire year before it expires, why does it look like this?”.I was very skeptical of giving this to my Cat because in the entire 7 years I’ve had my Cat, I’ve never seen anything like this. So I asked my mom and dad to check it out, and they both said that sometimes the food it’s that watery, and it doesn’t mean it’s bad or expired. Since they have more experience than me taking care of Cats than I do, I took their word for it and decided to follow the expiration date and give the food to my Cat. He ate it the same, as always and I thought, if he’s eating it, it probably doesn’t tastes or is bad.A day or two later, I notice that my baby’s excrement was a little lose, and I thought it’s probably because he’s been drinking more water, and his food has so much water. The problem was that the next day it was even more loose. I didn’t understand because I always give him dry food in the mornings and alternate to wet in the evenings. Then he started leaving food behind, and he’s never done this before. I thought I was probably giving him too much dry food in the morning, so yesterday, January 18th, I gave him a little less dry food, this one I bought in PetSmart ( I have an unopened bag of dry food that I bought in amazon two days after buying this one too, and it’s also going to the trash, I’m not taking any more chances) and then gave him the wet food in the evening, the same as always.Early this morning I went to give him his food and clean his litter box, and found a complete mess. He finish most of his food but his litter box and his paws were a complete mess. His excrement was literally water and he has never had diarrhea before, it was insane. I felt so bad for the little guy. I immediately knew, this food it’s making my baby sick.Of course I’m not giving my Cat this food anymore, and I’m throwing them out. I also have to take my baby to the vet. The thing that hurts me the most is that my baby was suffering because of something I gave him, and he couldn’t even tell me, or he tried with his behavior and I didn’t notice.I talked to some people and they told me that this food was probably kept outside or in a place where the temperature wasn’t controlled, and that’s why it went bad before the expiration date. I just can’t believe this people wouldn’t take care of consumables that they’re SELLING to people! Something that could potentially poison someone’s love one! It’s neglectful and just plain evil!

I love the brand but kitties on that Keen on the chicken flavor true instinct anymore.
My kitties used to really dig this flavor but suddenly stopped liking it at all. What’s very strange about the whole thing is in July I was blessed with two little kitties that were born as feral kittens. Their mama who I was feeding for the past 6 months decided she was going to bring them and leave them with me. Unfortunately she has never returned so I’m hoping nothing happened to her. Like I said I was blessed except for the fact that two more kittens really weren’t allotted for in the budget that I have right now. We share though so we don’t mind that part of it. It’s the vet bill that I don’t know what I’m going to do about. Anyway as for now because I have six kitties of my own I am renting them my apartment next door for their love and affection. It’s starting to pay off now but they were tough to crack. I did it though I was determined!! The reason I started getting the pure instinct was because I was trying to break the kittens from hunting outside and at first like I said they were loving it but the weird part being the two kitties I went to stop liking it at the same time that my six kitties stopped liking it. So that tends to make me think that maybe I might have got a bad batch but!! None of them have really taken back to it again. So I will give it one more try and see what happens and if no one accepts it then I will know they had to have changed the ingredients. I will reevaluate and then come back and let you know how things go.

Our cat loves this food
Sophie is a senior cat. With some trepidation, we switched her food to Purina from another more expensive brand which she had been on for many years. We gradually introduced it to her while weening her off the other food to avoid any issues with her digestion. She really likes it. Quality ingredients and Purina brand.

very good cat food
a couple months ago i noticed a little black cat sleeping against my house , he was very friendly but very skinny and dirty . after feeding him for a few weeks i took him and kenneled him inside , taking him to the vet for deworming . this cat was so hungry and so skinny but this food changed that ! he loved it , eating up every bit and crying for more . he loved it and went from a very small and bony cat to a big 12lb boy all filled out and strong . he absolutely transformed and i’m very happy with my choice of food .

Cat eats it, doesn’t puke
My cat is not only picky about her food, she pukes it up from time to time. Once or twice a week. Vet says she just eats to fast… I dunno. She’s eating this brand (my vet suggested) and keeping it down. She doesn’t like the Tuna as much as the poultry. They all look and smell the same to me, but apparently there is a difference.

My cat loves this stuff!
We call these cans “liquids mice” and our big brown tabby loves it. We only give him half a can. He also has dry food out at all times and this is his “dinner”.As a word of caution, for some reason even a tiny bit of this makes our small mix-breed dog have digestive issues so we’ve learned to put it up right after kitty finishes.Even one smidgen is too much for our pup!

The pate-loving, fussy little jerks like it – whew!
I committed an awful, awful sin. My cats may never forgive me. I purchased a 24 pack of cat food that’s not pate. (Gasp!)I clicked when I saw chicken and gravy, and thought it would be okay because gravy, right? When it arrived, I froze in panic when I saw the image. It’s not pate. It’s bits of food, the type that with other manufacturers normally looks like some sort of awful modeling clay type non-food substance in gravy that the cats turn their noses and whiskers up at. (Did I mention they’re fussy little jerks sometimes?)I tried to act cool when I opened it – don’t make a big deal, just give it to them. Maybe they won’t notice. Maybe I won’t have one of them standing on my chest in the middle of the night to discuss my poor decision. Maybe it’ll be ok and I won’t be donating 23 cans of food to the local shelter, because if you try to donate food to the shelter, you wind up adopting another cat out of guilt – and they know it…I was afraid to watch them approach the bowls – you know they smell fear, right? When I finally turned to look, the food was half-eaten and they were checking each other’s bowls to see who had what left – a sign of a good food. They ate everything, and I can breathe again without fear of them reporting me to any animal control authorities for lousy food abuse. It arrived in a securely packed case of 24 three ounce cans, easy to open and portion out. I’ve had a lot of luck with different cat foods – wet and dry – from this line and will continue using them.

My cat loves it, but…
My cat really enjoys this food and eats every bit of it and can’t get enough. But, her bowels are not always consistent. One flavor causes her to be more irregular than the others. I am very disappointed that that the “in gravy” version contains wheat, but the pate version is grain free. My cat hates pate, but is sensitive to grain, which I think is why her bowels are inconsistent. Purina: please make the grain free version available in gravy as well!

I have a whole new happy and healthy cat!
Our 16 year old cat has always been fed Meow Mix dry cat food. Lately, she seemed to have lost a lot of weight so we decided to introduce wet cat food to her diet. Well, she’s a whole new cat and happy for meal time. We did our research and found out this is one of the highest-rated wet cat foods and we’ve been so pleased we are on auto delivery. She’s also plumped up. We still have her dry cat food in her diet but the majority of what she eat is this.

CatWillEatIfCoveredInSomeFriskies,strongfishsmell2strong
The food is not friskies filets or morsel-like as i was hoping it be an intermediate quality below merrick pouches and basic purina one and all their “specialities”Will update in few days to see if the broth alone is his problem. I did warm up the leftover food (kitzymixedwithBBfreedom) and he ate some;i could tell what was eaten was his morning kitzymix (mentioned above) after it had soaked in this new sauce but, the fish oil is overwhelming the Turkey and alone my cat wont eat.Update 2^^3 days later__the cat will rather not eat at regular time 11:00 to 11:30-ish and wait for the true nature food to be mixed with bbfreedomchicke . I must say clearly the fish smell from this food is keeping the cat coming back to me meowing not eating such a strong fishy food.I. Think the cat is letting the food air out. I can not go higher than 3 stars for this alone. He is a little more active than eating bb canned food mixed with purinacatchow but also he has been without food since 6 hours ago.UPDATE2MONTHSLATERCat can finally finish and leave the plate somewhat clean if this food is mixed/covered in frikies, undetectable under bbwildernessPATE, or heavily sauced like mixed with kitzy wet pouchfood. So 3 stars if u have another food to make it palatible.

FINALLY!
I have two of the fussiest little butt heads in existence! I’ve tried every expensive, non grain, healthy food and they turn their noses up at it. They actually go to their bowls holding their beautiful tails up in the air, sniff the food and look at up me with those adorable faces with their hilarious “what is this garbage” looks! As frustrating as it gets to find something they agree on, it cracks me up the way they’re so stubborn about it! They both prefer the cheapest food on the market that makes one of them puke every time she eats it and the other one just inhales it and gets fatter and fatter. Now that’s just unacceptable! So, I finally tried this Purina ONE brand which is a half way compromise… they like it and no vomiting! They’re also satisfied with the smaller cans which I split one between them twice a day. So, for now, we’re in agreement that this is the food for the time being… that is until they get that “What the hell” look again.

April 2018: Chicken & Turkey formula changed; it now has Salmon in the ingredients.
In April 2018, Purina reformulated their True Instinct Chicken & Turkey. It previously didn’t have any fish which was helpful for my fish-allergic cat. She scarfed down her 2 cans/day without question. Not only does the new reformulated version have SALMON listed in the ingredients, but she sniffs and walks away without eating it (thankfully so given her allergies).
